Review:
SodaStream products have revolutionized the way we think about soda. Whether you are an occasional soda pop drinker or a hard core six-pack a day drinker, I think that you should give SodaStream a good look, and here’s why. After receiving my SodaStream, The first thing I wanted to do was try it out. Well, I’m a man so,… instructions? Let’s drink! I found it very easy to assemble and yes I did read about how to add fizz, and mix the flavored drinks. There is a picture on the first page of the manual that explains all you need to know in order to complete the assembly. A picture is worth a thousand words! 
I like the idea that I use my own water. I can use bottled, purified, or tap water. I can also decide for myself if I want a strong fizz or a light one (depending on my mood or preference). I can also decide if I want more syrup or less. So I CAN have my way! For me, the convenience of making it at home and not going out to the store to buy it is a selling point. SodaStream can save me money there, but what is the bottom line in dollars and cents? I mean really… If you forget the initial cost of the machine, the cost of each can of soda is about 25 cents a can. The initial cost of the machine includes a variety pack and three bottles of syrup (of your choice). So with the expense of the machine, it’s a little higher. I came up with a cost of 41 cents a can for the first 132 cans of soda and then it will be 25 cents thereafter. If you were to purchase the same soda on sale it would cost more. I don’t know about you, but I always drink soda. Finding it on sale isn’t really an option. Retail costs are even more. Alright then, I can save money as well. I don’t have to go to the store AND I’m saving money. I like saving money! Saving isn’t really saving unless I like it, so what does it taste like? Well, I’m glad you asked. Usually I would say that everyone’s taste is a little different (which it is), but this is the beauty of SodaStream. You can add more fizz or less fizz, more syrup or less syrup, and you can even mix flavors to give you whatever flavor you want. I can even add sugar (or sugar substitute) if I want. My drink of choice was always cola drinks, any one would do. The SodaStream cola is every bit as good as the big brand name sodas on the market; at least in my opinion. And when you put the savings in the equation, I believe that it is a good investment. How many times have you spent $1.25 for a can/bottle of pop? You could have had five SodaStream drinks for that price. Now here’s something else that you might not have thought about; You use your own Carbonating bottles, so there’s no cans or bottles to dispose of. Think of how much you might be helping out the environment with that. So technically, you’d be “going GREEN” by owning one. 
Last tidbit of information for you, they have over 60 flavors to choose from. They have diet and regular (the sugar or sugar substitute is already added), they have flavored water, and it makes carbonated water for mixed drinks (or just to drink). I have been using mine and it works great. I even make up a couple of bottles in the morning to take to work. The Genesis comes with a variety pack so I tried some different flavors and though I used to be a strictly cola drinker, I’m not anymore! There are a lot of models to choose from and you can even order everything on line at their website. You don’t even have to leave home to get it! How great is that?!? So if you’re tired of spending so much on soda and want to drink your own water instead of, well whatever they use, I think you should start using the SodaStream today! I think the Soda Stream is the coolest invention since sliced bread! I have been wanting to try all the flavors ever since it came out. I want to try the Root Beer, Cherry Coke, and Diet Ginger Ale most of all.

I have been wanting a Soda Stream for a while now. I don’t drink a lot of soda, but the hubby does. I am more excited to try the flavored carbonated waters, like the grapefruit, yum! I love that it is so adaptable to suit one’s individual tastes. I would rather win one, but sounds like I may need to break down and buy one if that doesn’t pan out.

This is the ideal product to have both for convenience and to save money. Never again having to balance bottles of soda on the edge of a grocery cart or hauling 12 or 24 count cans to the car and then into the house sounds fabulous.

I keep trying to win one of these! The way hubby goes thru Mountain Dew, we could use it.
My brother has one and he just loves it. The only problem he has told me about is when you put a little too much carbonation in them, lol. He has had to do a couple of clean ups.

I want one of these. I enjoy soda but refuse to buy it after I read articles about some companies are using human stem cells from aborted babies in their soda. The only other option now is make my own soda so I know I am not cannibalizing by drinking stem cells and getting some horrible cancer from it.

In a local store here, they had someone demonstrating the product and I LOVED the Dr. Pepper type flavor and I am not even a fan of Dr. Pepper! The sparkling water option looks awesome too!

I am lucky I still live in the south and as long as I get the genetic brand I can get soda for less than 25 cents a 12 ounce can. But if the price is 25 cents or even 41 cents a full carbonation bottle then this would be cost effective even here in south Texas. I do agree that this machine has a lot less environmental impact because of the compact size and the fact that you can use your own water.

Apparently there is caffeine in the SodaStream products, but they do sell caffeine free sodas as well.

I had the chance to try a couple of the soda mixes at a cousin’s this weekend. The orange is very good, and the cola is also very good.(To me, the cola tastes like a mix somewhere between Pepsi and Coke.)

I want a Soda Stream so bad. I think it is to the point that I am coveting one. The Soda Stream diet drinks are sweetened with Splenda which is much better than your other diet drinks sweetened with aspartame. I think of the health aspects more than the “green” aspects of this product. I will call it going “green” for my body.

SodaStream can save me money, and I can fix the soda anyway I like it – what’s not to love?! I’ve been wanting to get one of these systems, but the initial cost discouraged me from trying one, despite all of the rave reviews. It is horrifying how much trash is created by all the single-serving drinks on the market – it seems like this wouldn’t be too much trouble for most people and could definitely reduce the number of disposable containers a person uses pretty dramatically.

This would be a perfect fit in our house, because we don’t drink much soda but we drink gallons of Perrier and we could save a fortune making our own “bubble water” and using our own water. Then when we have guests who want soda, I could just make whatever they want on demand instead of having to buy 5 different kinds of soda to suit all our our guests tastes.

WoW 60 flavors~! That’s awesome. They even had my all time favorite which is Cream Soda. I have a hard time finding it in the stores where I live but with the SodaStream I would be able to drink it any time I wanted 🙂
It would be great to make Rootbeer floats or Orange Dreamcicles with the kids too.
I would want to buy extra bottles though so like you said I could take them to work with me. I just looked to see If I could buy extra bottles and found out that you can actually buy 1/2 liter bottles which would be better for me for work because we have a mini fridge in the office. Plus you can buy a glass bottle or a stainless steel bottle for those that don’t want to use plastic like me. SodaStream thought of everything. Love it~!

I am so glad they finally came up with something like this, when we buy soft drinks I get so aggravated with the amount of room the empty bottles take up in the trash…the kids are stoked about getting one of these and trying all the different flavors.
